The Permanent Account Number is abbreviated as PAN. The Income Tax Department of India issues a ten-character alpha-numerical identity card to everybody who applies. The PAN is a unique identity card provided to all judicial organisations identified under the 1961 Income Tax Act.

The PAN Card is a vital piece of documentation that may be used for identifying purposes. The Permanent Account Number (PAN) is a number, but the PAN Card is a physical card that contains the Permanent Account Number (PAN), the individual’s name, date of birth, father’s name, photograph, and digital signature. The PAN Card is a permanent document unaffected by residence address changes.

The Indian Income Tax Department will issue the PAN card in collaboration with designated district-level PAN agencies such as UTI Infrastructure Technology and Services Limited and National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL). As a result, there are several PAN centres and TIN-Facilitation Centres established around the country, making it easier for people to obtain their PAN cards.

The PAN application process is based on a PPP (Public-Private Partnership) paradigm, which ensures that PAN applications are competent, austere, and effective.

Individuals and entities that pay taxes, such as corporations, Hindu Undivided Families, the Association of Persons, limited liability partnerships, municipal governments, and non-residents, will be granted PAN cards.
