The New Windows 10 version 21H1 update coming soon with improved Security and more

The next feature update for their operating system, called version 21H1, was announced by Microsoft. This latest update succeeds the
20H2 update of last year. The company argues that the latest upgrade brings stability, remote access, quality enhancements, and upgrades to a few main user experiences.

Some of the new features include:

  • When both external and internal Windows Hello cameras are present,
Windows Hello multi-camera supports setting the default as the external camera.
  • Improvements to Windows Defender Application Guard performance,
including optimising scenario times for document opening.
  • Updating performance enhancement to support remote work scenarios
with Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) Group Policy Service (GPSVC).
  • As this version of Windows 10 is targeted for the first half of
2021, all versions of Windows 10 version 21H1 will receive 18 months of service.

“We appreciate the value of delivering the best possible upgrading experience to help individuals and organisations remain healthy
and prosperous while people begin to focus on Windows more than ever to work, learn and have fun.

It is a job we do not take lightly and why an H1 (first half of a calendar year) feature update rollout will be implemented in an integrated fashion
using service technologies for the first time, thus maintaining our semi-annual feature update cadence”, said John Cable, in a blog post, Vice President, Program Management, Windows Servicing and Distribution.

The company also stated that clients running either Windows 10, version 2004 or version 20H2 who want to upgrade to the latest release would have a simple download experience as the release would instal like a monthly report. However, the upgrade can hit consumers using Windows 10 versions prior to 2004 (the May 2020 Update), much as the other Windows 10 update.
