In India, the PlayStation 5 Digital Version will not be available in time for the February 2, 2020, PS5 release date. In addition to that, at launch, the Dual Sense charging station, HD camera, and PS Headset will also skip India.
The news comes from a Twitter account that has been monitoring the launch information of PS5 India. IGN India has been able to check its claims through retail sources and can guarantee that the posted information is correct.
Sony commented out, as to why India will be missing the PS5 Digital Version and these accessories and we got the following statement via email. In the launch window, the PS5 Digital Edition and select peripherals (Dual Sense charging station, HD camera, and PS headset) are not available.
What this means is that in India, in addition to the PS5 with a disc drive, only the DualSense controller and Media Remote will be available at the sale.
That said, the country’s game stores have finally obtained their PS5 disc edition allocations, while Sony has yet to announce what the pre-order instructions should be. This is in striking comparison to other markets where Sony explained how it will take place amid the current coronavirus pandemic to avoid overcrowding.
Interestingly, don’t ask shops to market the PS5 the way they do. Instead, sources familiar with Sony’s plans say that an improvement in the company’s margin structure and sufficient quantities of titles such as Sackboy A Major Adventure and Demon’s Souls would mean that stores would try bundling games with their PS5s as it could be too challenging a challenge to market them separately.
