The company is gearing up to launch yet another new feature on the app to do this. According to a new WABetaInfo report, the giant owned by Facebook is working on a new Read Later feature, which will soon arrive for stable users. Reportedly, the feature will act like a better version of the feature for archived chats. The website claims that the new feature has been enabled on the latest 220.127.116.11 beta version of WhatsApp.
As of now, the chat hides in the archive section if users try to archive a personal or group chat in WhatsApp, making them invisible in the chats section. Nevertheless, when a new message arrives, the chats return to the chat screen. WhatsApp users will be able to get rid of these interruptions with the help of the upcoming Read Later feature.
Once the functionality is rolled out to the masses, people will be able to add any chat in the Read Later section and if a new message arrives, they will not be notified. Any group or personal chat that is added to the category Read Later will remain muted.
The latest report from WABetaInfo says, “WhatsApp developed Read Later, a replacement/enhancement of Archived Chats.” The user does not receive notifications when a chat is added to your archive, because all archived chats will be automatically muted to reduce interruptions. It further stated that a user can disable this feature if it doesn’t suit his/her interest.
