Now You Can Make Instagram Reels of 90 Seconds

Instagram Reel is a feature on the Instagram app that allows users to create and share short videos of themselves. Instagram Reel is available only on iOS and Android devices.

90 Seconds of Instagram Reels

For the first time, Instagram, which is owned by Meta, will let users record Reels, its short-video offering, for up to 90 seconds instead of the current 60 seconds.

As a result of the ongoing border tensions between China and India, the firm is placing a large bet on Reels in India.

In an official blog post, Instagram said, “We’re giving you more time to play on Reels, by extending the length to up to 90 seconds.” You’ll have more time to share more about yourself, film extra behind-the-scenes clips, dig deeper into the nuances of your content, or whatever else you want to do with that extra time.”

Instagram and Facebook users spend over half of their time watching video content. They started off as short, snazzy films like TikTok rival Reels, but their duration has been steadily rising over time. In July, for example, TikTok went from 60-second films to three minutes and recently extended to let users to contribute movies up to 10 minutes in length. Instagram appears to be following TikTok’s example by increasing the duration of videos.

Amber Alert Feature

Instagram, on the other hand, has launched an Amber alert function to aid in the search for missing children. It is now possible to see an Amber Alert in your Instagram feed if law enforcement activates it in your area. The notice will contain critical information on the kidnapped child, such as a photo, description, and the exact location of the kidnapping. People may also spread the message by sharing the warning with their friends.
