Facebook and Instagram DM have Updated its Messaging Feature

Facebook Messenger and Instagram DMs are getting new features that enable users to be more articulate in their communication.

The upgrades include everything from new themes to the opportunity to respond to messages with a picture or video.

Latest Facebook and Instagram messaging features that are now available:

Chat Archives

Users of Facebook Messenger will now tidy up their mailbox without missing their message history or disabling conversations. In Messenger, a new swipe-to-archive functionality allows users to keep their inbox clean while also having access to unused chats for future reference.

From the Messenger inbox screen, swipe left on a chat to show the option to archive it. A chat will be sent to the latest Archived Chats folder if you tap the purple tab. Users can view their Archived Chats folder on the Messenger mobile app by clicking on their profile photo and selecting Archived Chats. A complete list of archived threads will be included in the folder.

Tap to Record

From the Messenger inbox screen, swipe left on a chat to show the option to archive it. A chat will be sent to the latest Archived Chats folder if you tap the purple tab. Users can view their Archived Chats folder on the Messenger mobile app by clicking on their profile photo and picking Archived Chats. A complete list of archived threads will be included in the folder.

Audio messaging fans can now record messages in Messenger without having to hold a phone. Instead of holding down the microphone button for a long time to record a post, users should simply tap once to start recording and again to stop.

New Themes

With the inclusion of new templates, Messenger users now have more opportunities for personalizing their messages. Users will choose from the current Star Wars theme and the Selena: The Series theme from the chat themes menu.
These themes are also available in Instagram DMs.

Celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

Facebook has introduced new camera stickers to Messenger and Messenger Kids that celebrate Asian and Pacific Islander diversity and influence (API). Users can choose from four different Messenger camera stickers to show their support and raise awareness for the main API issues.

New Instagram DM Features

Visual Replies

On iOS, Instagram now allows users to submit visual responses to direct messages (coming to Android soon). Users may use this function to react to a picture or video with their own.

When you get a message that includes a picture or video, tap the camera icon to take a photo or video to respond with, or to upload media from your device’s camera roll.

Inbox Seen States

The Instagram DMs mailbox has received a minor upgrade that makes it easy for users to see whether a client has viewed their mail.

Users will also search their mailbox to see if a message has been read. The message will be verified by a text fragment. Instagram users had access to this information before, but it allowed them to open the browser. It’s a minor but welcome change in quality of living. Private communications between one Instagram user and another, or a group of users, are known as DMs.

Instagram DMs are not visible in your brand’s feed, profile, or search results. They won’t work for your fans, either. The direct communications are only visible to you and the people with whom you are conversing.

Instagram Direct is how DMs are sent on the platform. Consider it an email mailbox where you may store private messages. By clicking on the paper aircraft symbol on both desktop and mobile, you can visit Instagram Direct to check your Instagram DMs.
