The iPhone 13 smartphone was announced on September 14, 2021. The phone has a 6.10-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1170×2532 pixels and a pixel density of 460. (PPI). The iPhone 13 is powered by an Apple A15 Bionic Hexa-core CPU. Wireless charging is supported on the iPhone 13, as is proprietary fast charging.

What’s new in iPhone 13 vs iPhone 12

The new iPhones are almost identical in size and form to their immediate predecessors, the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro series, with the exception of a few centimetres. They do available in a variety of colours. On the front, we have somewhat narrower (but slightly higher) notches, which I believe is a little improvement. I’d love to be able to see my battery % again, but considering how fast the Android market realized that notches were not worth imitating, Apple did not come out ahead here.

Similarity

The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini retain just two back cameras, which are now arranged in an odd diagonal configuration — a rare instance of Apple going against the minimalist trend. The non-Pro versions lack a specialized optical telephoto camera, and they also lack the ability to capture macro shots with their wide-angle cameras, something that even budget Android phones have been capable of for some time.

Design Difference

Rather than that, Apple is promising brighter displays – up to 28% brighter than the iPhone 12’s displays. The iPhone 13 and 13 small versions have a maximum brightness of 800 nits, while the iPhone 13 Pro models have a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits.

The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are the first Apple phones that have ProMotion screens. This means they may change their refresh rate dynamically between 10Hz and 120Hz in response to your on-screen activities. The iPhone 12 Pro versions, like the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12, and iPhone 12 mini, were locked at 60Hz.

Camera Difference

Cameras seem to be a significant point of differentiation between the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12, even if the number of lenses remains the same. That is because what Apple has done with the camera hardware should result in a totally different photography experience on the iPhone 13.

The iPhone 13 and 13 mini both have a 12MP primary camera with the largest sensor ever utilized in a dual-camera iPhone. It should allow in 47% more light than the iPhone 12 camera, resulting in clearer images. These two iPhone 13 models have Apple’s sensor-shift optical image stabilization technology, which was first introduced on the iPhone 12 Pro Max last year, and the ultrawide lens promises more clarity in low-light situations.

The iPhone 13 Pro versions offer even more significant camera improvements. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have a larger primary sensor for improved low-light pictures, while the ultrawide angle lens has a wider f/1.8 aperture. Additionally, the iPhone 13 Pro models’ 77mm telephoto lens now has a 3x optical zoom, an upgrade above the 2.5x zoom featured on the iPhone 12 Pro.

Night Mode is available on all three cameras on the iPhone 13 Pro, and the iPhone 13 Pro has sensor-shift stabilization rather than reserving it for the Pro Max model. We’re excited to see how all of these improvements translate into better photographs.

Performance Difference

All iPhone 13 models are equipped with the A15 Bionic CPU, an improvement over the A14 Bionic featured in all iPhone 12 models. Given that the A14 was the fastest system-on-chip we tested, this should translate to some very impressive performance, though we’ll need to evaluate the phones to see just how fast they are.

One thing to note about the iPhone 13 Pro versions is that they have a 5-core GPU, as opposed to the standard iPhone 13’s 4-core graphics engine. This should make the Pro versions gaming powerhouses, particularly when compared to the iPhones from last year.

5G Network

Apple’s iPhone 12 has some of the greatest 5G compatibility available, but the new phones should support even more 5G bands, according to Apple. Apple claims that by the end of the year, 5G support for the iPhone 13 models would have doubled to over 200 carriers in 60 countries and regions.

The iPhone 13 will come pre-installed with iOS 15. The iPhone 12 devices are presently running iOS 14 but will be able to upgrade to iOS 15 on September 20. (And if you downloaded the iOS 15 beta, your iPhone 12 already has iOS 15.)

Battery Difference

Apple does not reveal battery capacities when it introduces new phones, so we have no idea how large the iPhone 13 batteries are in comparison to the iPhone 12 batteries. However, we do know that they are larger, which should result in longer battery life.

That is encouraging news. Apart from the iPhone 12 Pro Max, the other iPhone 12 models all performed poorly in our battery test, which involves having phones browse the web via cellular until they run out of juice.

Apple claims that the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 Pro should have a battery life of up to 1.5 hours greater than the iPhone 12. The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max are expected to gain 2.5 hours of battery life. If that is the case, the iPhone 13 Pro Max would make our list of the best phones for battery life.

Charging rates are the same as those of the iPhone 12 — 15W wireless charging through MagSafe and 20W cable charging. As was the case with the iPhone 12, the iPhone 13 models will be sent without a charger.

Bank Offers for iPhone 13

On HDFC Bank credit and debit cards, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini will be available with a Rs 6,000 rebate. The cashback offer is available for HDFC Bank customers on both EMI and non-EMI purchases. Given that the iPhone 13’s starting price is Rs 79,900 for the basic model, we can estimate that it will be available for Rs 73,900 to HDFC Bank customers when the cashback offer is valid. The cashback promotion will begin on September 24, 2021.

Similarly, HDFC Bank credit and debit cardholders would get a Rs 5,000 payback on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The cashback offer is valid for both EMI and non-EMI purchases. Given that the iPhone 13 Pro is priced at Rs 119,900, customers may get it for Rs 114,900 when the HDFC Bank cashback offer is applied.

Pre-Booking Date for iPhone 13 in India

Pre-orders for the new iPhone 13 series begin on September 17 at 5:30 p.m. IST.
